Good Friends

While Brian may be disappointed that he couldn't get home for Christmas, I can think of one little guy who's pretty darn pleased about it.

So much snow!

The snow just keeps coming! Max actually declared that he hates snow yesterday. He, like the rest of us, is going stir-crazy. Hopefully we'll be able to make it to our families' homes for Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. Despite the inconvenience, we have had some fun playing outside. Even still, we're all ready to say goodbye to all this snow.

These were the best salads we've ever had and we ate them too fast to get a photo:

We ordered the roast chicken for 2 and it was divine:

My Birthday - Part 2: The Room

Our friend Devin's father is the general manager of Hotel 1000 and treated us to a 10th-floor, corner-room, water-view suite. There was chilled champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries waiting for us, as well as some gifts from Devin for me. It was amazing!

Gifts:

Our amazing bathtub. Notice where the water is coming from:

My Birthday - Part 1: Eating our way across town

For my 31st birthday, Mark surprised me after the Jingle Bell Run with a day in the city (without kiddos) and then a stay at Hotel 1000. It was such a wonderful day. We went to all our favorite food spots that we can never go to when we've got the boys with us.

Yummy crepes:

Last bite:

Almond croissant and cappuccino at Le Panier:

Mmmm...piroshky:

Look what we did!

On December 14th, my good friend Annie & I completed our first 5k. I almost didn't make it because of the snow & ice, but thanks to my father-in-law, Ed, I was able to get there literally just in time. I could hear the announcer counting down to the start of the race as I was running down 5th Ave. Thankfully I found Annie & we were able to run together. Can't wait for our next challenge!
